Sanctuary for Women – We are here for You! 2021…

2021 is here! I know I know… and?

2020 was a hard year! So many were filled with joy when Christmas came, as was I. Christmas brings me joy! This year it seemed that it brought more widespread joy than I had seen in the past. People were decorating as soon as end of summer. I am ok with that. Don’t get me wrong I love fall and Thanksgiving.

But I believe that after so much fear, loss, sadness, sickness, restrictions, confusion, anger, and uprising we all needed some of the peace and joy that Christmas brings. I love the old Scrooge movie where he learns the real meaning of Christmas. The real meaning of what our lives should be. He determined to keep Christmas in his heart all year long. I have too.

Christmas to me is so much more than lights, decorations and trees. It is celebrating the birth of Jesus. The promise of eternal hope and joy to come! The Savior of the world was born!! The best gift ever because it is the gift of eternal life, of joy, peace and the love of God. So much love that he gave his only Son to die in our place.!! We just have to believe, accept Him and follow Him.

You may have wondered why I am writing about Christmas when a beautiful spring is in the air, well,,, it is because Christmas was the start of the fulfilling of the promise that a Savior was coming to help and save us all. But Easter, that is the finish. When Jesus was crucified and died in our place. He took on all the sins and sickness of this world and of us all! He was raised back to life!! Yes it is true! He defeated death and rose again. Now He is seated at the right hand of God interceding for us continually.

Have you ever thought what a great sacrifice that was for God to give up His son for all of us? Would you? Have you ever thought of the pain and agony of being hung on a cross, hands and feet pierced with nails and having to hold yourself up just to breath… But for the joy set before Him – which is us – He did. That is love that is beyond measure!

We went through and many are still going through hard times. But we do not have to do it alone. We have the hope of salvation in Jesus. If we accept Him for who He is., believe that He is the Son of God and died for our sins, confess that we have sinned and ask forgiveness, ask Him to save us and lead us through this life and one day on to heaven to eternal bliss with Him… then we are SAVED!! We are Free from Death! We have a hope and a future. That is right not only do we have eternity but in this life God has great plans for us. We were all created in His image with a purpose that only we can fulfill!

I know it just keeps getting better with Jesus. So with Him we have a friend who totally understands us. Who accepts us just as we are. We have nothing to prove. He already knows everything about us. He knows what we like and don’t like, what we think, what we are going to say and do before we do it. HE LOVES US JUST LIKE WE ARE, the good , the bad, the ugly and the beautiful!!

Let me hear from you. God Bless you!

Thanksgiving

Being thankful is something we need to practice all the time not just at Thanksgiving. But, I am glad that at thanksgiving it reminds us to sit back and reflect on the year that has passed. We remember the good and the hard times. We ask ourselves and others what are we most thankful for.

For me that is easy, God and my salvation!! God is always there for us!! Through the happy and sad times and through the times where we are not sure what will happen and if we will survive. God is there when we lose things that we think are so important only to find out later, God has worked it all out for our best.

My hope and my prayer is that we can maintain thanksfulness all year long!!! Everyday if we just get up and think of one thing we have to be thankful for and thank God for it we will have a better day. I read a Jesus calling this morning about being thankful. Jesus was saying thank me in all things, like it says in Corinthians be thankful in all things for this is God’s plan for you. No matter what happens we have God with us and we can always be thankful for that. When we thank God we open the windows of heaven. It opens us up to receive all the promises and blessings that God has planned for us since before we were born. The more we do this the more our perspective is changed. We begin to operate like we in the Kingdom of God instead of in the world… We can live in peace and joy because we are always thankful!!!

God bless you all and I hope this little tidbit will inspire you to take the first step to looking at your life and yourself the way God does and to adopt a lifestyle of thankfulness.
